Bruce Lee fan breaks 111 tiles on his shoulders

Ahmedabad, July 20 (UNI) It was not for the records but 36-year-old ''Shaolin Lee'', a die-hard fan and self-appointed disciple of Bruce Lee, paid homage to the kung fu icon Bruce Lee by breaking 111 tiles on his shoulders here today.

He was hit with the tiles by two associates, one after another.

Bleeding at the end, he told newspersons, ''My muscles are tough, not my skin. Tiles have pointed corners, too. And, then, some expertise is required to hit somebody in martial arts.'' Shaolin Lee was born and brought up in Ahmedabad.

''Shaolin'' is his assumed name and even his passport carries it.

He earns his livelihood by teaching martial arts and does some modelling too.

He has been paying homage to Bruce Lee this day every year, mostly in private. He has been practising martial arts since he was eleven years of age, he said.

He is pained at the commercialisation of martial arts, especially in India. He has no intention to seek a mention in the Limca Book of Records as yet.

He said, ''It is at the insistence of my friend Dr Paresh Dave and his wife Dr Snehal, who runs a gym, that I am here in Ahmedabad to address a press conference.'' UNI VKC MAZ MIR DB2047
