Army jawan arrested for supplying ammunition

Barrackpore, Jul 19 (UNI) An army jawan, posted in Kashmir, was arrested form his Kaliganj residence in Nadia district early today, police said.

Soleman Sheikh was taken into custody after he was nabbed from his residence shortly after his return from Kashmir in a case of smuggling of ammunition to the miscreants.

Before this, police arrested a couple of miscreants few months ago from Kalyani and seized more than a hundred rounds of live cartridges.

Name of the jawan was disclosed during interrogation to the arrested duo, police added.

The accused was allegedly supplying live cartridges regularly to the miscreants, police said.

The jawan was produced before the Kalyani Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate court today.
