AIIMS Faculty Association president resigns
New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) AIIMS Faculty Association president A B Dey today resigned ''owning responsibility'' for writing letters to the Prime Minister criticising institute Director P Venugopal.
Sources said Dr Dey had expressed his personal views and not that of the Association in letters also sent to several Ministers on July 19.
''Today a General Body Meeting was called and he apologised for the letters and tendered his resignation,'' the sources said.
''The court brought the matter to the fore and it has caused the association embarrassment,'' they added.
They said he had circulated the letters to the print as well as electronic media.
The AIIMS Faculty Association was in the forefront of the anti-quota reservation and the protest against the dismissal of Dr Venugopal.
