Two Pak infiltrators among four killed in Poonch, Rajaouri
Jammu, July 19 (UNI) Two Pakistani intruders among four ultras were killed in different encounters during the last 24 hours in border districts of Poonch-Rajouri, official sources said today.
Some militants belonging to Pakistani outfit Lashkar-e-toiba (LeT) attacked Gursai police station at Medhar in Poonch district last night.
One of the insurgents, later identified as Abu Arfat, was gunned down by the security personnel in an encounter. He was reportedly involved in another attack on the Gursai police station on July 16.
Arms and ammunition, including AK rifle, three magazines and other ammunition and explosives, were also recovered from the slain militant.
In another incident, the Army and the police, in a joint operation against the infiltrators, gunned down two Pakistani nationals. The two had entered Indian territory recently via Tarkundi in Manjakote sector of Rajouri district by cutting the fencing.
Troops of 7 Kumaon, 3/11 Gorkha rifles with Jammu and Kashmir police intercepted the group of militants, police sources said.
Search operations in the areas were still on, with the Army and the police hunting for other infiltrators.
