TCS to integrate acquired firms
Chennai, July 19 (UNI) After acquisition, its time for IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), to integrate the newly acquired firms and diversify its work force by hiring 4,000 people from abroad.
Talking to newspersons here today, TCS Executive Vice-President, Global Human Resources S Padmanabhan said the company had started the process of integrating the acquired companies into the TCS.
"Over the last months, we have acquired three companies outside India--FNS, a retail banking firm in Australia, Comicron, a Chile- based firm involved in back office operations for pension funds and Dilligente, a U K based BPO for Insurance companies", he said.
"We are taking a lot of efforts to integrate them into the TCS. Prior to this, five companies were integrated with the TCS in India", he added.
Mr Padmanabhan said the TCS had very good understanding of integrating the acquired firms to help the company grow both organically and inorganically, through acquisitions before consolidating the financials.
Apart from market access, Integration would give the TCS an opportunity to globalise its work force, which had 7.5 per cent of non-Indian nationals, out of its total 69,000 employee strength.
"It's critical to go forward by diversifying its work force', Mr Padmanabhan said and added that the company would replicate the campus interview process to hire about 4,000 people in Latin America, United States, Eastern Europe and China, Singapore and Budapest, enabling the TCS to move away from an Indian company to a global corporation.
During the quarter ending June 30, the TCS visited 180 campuses and obtained Day one slots in 94 per cent of these campuses, hiring about 8,000 people", he said.
To a question, he said the company was looking at new companies for acquisition in different geographical areas.
