State officers to boycott union minister's programme
Patna, July 19 (UNI) Peeved at the 'ill-treatment' meted out to a senior officer by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Akhilesh Prasad Singh, members of Bihar Administrative Service Association (BASA) today decided to boycott all official programmes of Mr Singh.
A unanimous decision regarding this was taken in a meeting of BASA's executive committee.
BASA president K M Sharma and general secretary Bipin Kumar Sinha told newsperson here that the union minister had 'misbehaved with the Officer on the Special Duty (OSD) to East Champarans district collector, Rajeev Kumar Srivastava, during an official meeting at Motihari on July 15. They said that the minister had also threatened Mr Srivastava with dire consequences.
BASA members were being subjected to misbehaviour by anti socials who were enjoying 'blessings' of the union minister, they alleged.
They also asked the state governmet to take stern action against such type of offenders.
They said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary and the Director General of Police had been informed in this regard.
