Speaker pulls up SP MLA for disrupting House
Bhopal, July 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Roahni today pulled up Samajwadi legislator Sunilam for not following directions and disrupting the proceedings of House.
Dr Sunilam started speaking without the Speaker's permission when the matter related to food distribution to poor was raised during the question hour and supplementaries and its answers were being discussed.
Mr Rohani asked Dr Sunilam to remain calm and warned him not disrupt the proceedings but the SP legislator did not pay heed forcing the Speaker to ask Dr Sinilam to change his behaviour.
He said Dr Sunilam had nothing to do with the problems of poor and only wanted to remain in discussion. He was the lone member in the House who was appreciated by nobody.
Dr Sunilam had attracted the Chair's ire on earlier occasions and was taken out of the assembly with the help of marshals twice.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra and other ministers took strong exception to Dr Sunilam's behaviour and demanded action against the SP legislator.
Former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur said Dr Sunilam had even displayed a banner during the speech by President A P J Abdul Kalam on the opening day of the monsoon session.
Despite several warnings, Dr Sunilam continued to argue for long time.
The Speaker expunged all the comments from proceedings and advised the SP legislator to improve his behaviour.
