Slain Priyadarshini's father appeals for justice

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Even after denial of justice for ten long years, supporters of slain Priyadarshini Mattoo are still determined to fight for the cause.

Her father, C L Mattoo, who presented himself before the media today after seven years, made a fervent appeal to the people at large as well as the media to come forward and support his mission for securing justice for his late daughter, a law student who was raped and murdered in 1996.

''I have faith in the entire judicial system of the nation, said Mr Mattoo adding,'' for the past seven years, we have been fighting at our own level. And, now seeing the response to the Jessica Lall case, we have gained confidence that we too can seek justice.

''We want nothing short of a re-trial and it is my appeal that this case should be treated at par with the Jessica Lall one and other high-profile cases,'' Mr Mattoo added.
