Seven inter-state supari killers nabbed
Bellary, Karnataka, July 19 (UNI) Seven inter-state supari killers were arrested when they attempted to steal a vehicle to escape after committing a murder, at Roopanagudi road on the outskirts of the town.
Additional Superintendent of Police C Rajappa told reporters here yesterday that Bellary police swung into action on a tip-off that the dreaded criminals were trying to stop moving vehicles with deadly weapons and effected the arrest. They recovered knives, sickles and wooden logs from them.
He said the culprits had murdered one Jaggu alias Jagadish after taking a supari of Rs 1.5 lakh from one Murali who wanted to avenge the repeated attacks on his brother and former Municipal Chairman B Kumaraswamy by Jagadish.
The arrested were identified as Hampaiah, Srinivas, Maadanna and Krishnaiah of Atakalagonda village, Sudhakar, Badesab and Linganna of Devarakonda village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
Police were on the look out for Murali.
