Sensex nears 10,000 mark

Mumbai, July 19 (UNI) The BSE sensitive index today declined 209 points in the intra noon trade on intense selling by the investors, after the markets had recovered in the early trade.

Currently the Sensex is trading at 10,017.15.

Major sectoral indices are down in the red led by metals down 3.74 per cent, smallcap by 3.43 per cent and IT by 2.78 per cent.

Major gainers are ONGC, HDFC and Ranbaxy all up by 0.35 to 1.42 per cent.

Major losers are WIpro, Satyam computers, Tata Motors, ACC, TCS, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, Reliance Communication, Maruti Udyog and Hindalco all down between 3.15 to 4.95 per cent.
