Rs 629 cr being spent on upgradation of roads in Srinagar
Srinagar, July 19 (UNI) An amount of Rs 629 crores is being spenT for upgradation and renovation of different roads in summer capital city, Srinagar, following concern expressed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad during his visit to several areas recently.
The Minister of state for Roads and Buildings Gulchain Singh Charak, while launching the macadamisation work of important roads of Srinagar city, asked the official to avoid inconvenience to the plying of traffic.
Mr Charak, while interacting with people at various spots said that upgradation and improvement in the city roads is being carried out under the directions of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and phased programme has been formulated to this effect.
He also inspected the macadamisation work on various roads including Dalgate to Khonkhon, Rainawari,Saida Kadal, Ashahi Bagh, Habbak Crossing, and Zakura. These works will incur a total amount of Rs 22.94 lakhs while as Rs 8.94 lakhs have been incurred in these works till today.
