'Reservation Day' on Aug 7 by Conf of SC/ST Org

New Delhi, July 19: All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations will celebrate August 7 as 'Reservation Day'.

The main function on 'Reservation Day' will take place at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in the capital, said Confederation's Kerala unit president K Ramankutty here.

The decision to celebrate the 'Reservation Day' was taken in a two-day meeting of the confederation here earlier this week.

The meeting also decided to organise a national-level event to uphold the freedom to practice religion of one's choice, Mr Ramankutty said.

The event would be held in Nagpur on October 14, he added.

The Confederation will launch a movement here in November to demand reservation of jobs in the private sector, he said.
