Power situation satisfactory for second consecutive day
New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) With the rain gods continuing to oblige Delhiites with light rains today, after heavy rains yesterday, the power situation in the Capital remained satisfactory for the second consecutive day with the discoms being able to meet the 3403 MW peak time power demand.
However, rotational loadshedding of around 109 MW from 1120 to 1150 hrs was affected in few localities, mainly to maintain the grid discipline.
With Delhi recieving monsoon rains since Monday, after a gap of nearly a week, the power situation in the capital has somewhat eased since yesterday.
Yesterday too, the Delhi Government was able to fully meet the 3500 MW power demand during the peak time.
However, the discoms had to resort to rotational loadshedding of around 200 MW yesterday for two to three hours in a few localities to maintain the grid discipline.
The Northern Grid has been experiencing frequency problems due to its generation falling far short of the demand.
