Opposition calls on Governor
Mumbai, July 19 (UNI) The Opposition members in the State Legislative Council today alleged that the state government has violated the directives of the Governor that priority should be accorded for spending allocations for irrigation in the backlog districts.
A delegation of the Opposition members led by Leader of Opposition Pandurang Phundkar, state BJP president Nitin Gadkari, B T Deshmukh(Ind), Diwakar Raote (Sena) and others called on Governor S M Krishna that these directives were totally ignored by the government for the last five years.
The delegation requested the Governor to personally look into the matter. The Governor assured them to look into their demand.
