NEFICA to showcase Northeast cultures in Mumbai

Shillong, Jul 19 (UNI) In order to showcase North East culture, tourism potential and entrepreneur avenues at the national level, the North-East Forum for Indigenous Culture and Arts (NEFICA) will be holding North East Festival at Mumbai in January 2007.

In a press statement issued here today, NEFICA said the eight states from the region will display their wares through stalls and each evening a cultural programme will be held with big screen presentations and cultural dances and songs.

They have also decided to hold the first-ever North East Beat contest at Aizwal, Mizoram in November 2006, where the categories will be for bands and individual artists.

The NEFICA Miss-NORTHEAST beauty pageant will be held here in July 2007.
