Monsoon picks up in Kolhapur district again

Kolhapur, July 19 (UNI) After nearly two weeks of intermittent light showers, monsoon is active again in Kolhapur district and all its 12 tehsils.

District collectorate office sources today said the highest rainfall of 115 mm was recorded in Gaganbavada tehsil, while lowest of eight mm was recorded in Shirol during the last 24 hours.

Radhanagari tehsil received 72 mm rainfall, while the district's average rainfall recorded was 39.8 mm during the same period, the sources said.

Irrigation dams in the district completed the water storage level of about 75 pc to 80 pc following the rainfall in June and July.
