Militants shot at and wounded a police constable in Srinagar
Sriangar, July 19 (UNI) Militants today shot at and critically wounded a Jammu and Kashmir police constable at Hazratbal, official sources said.
They said a group of unidentified militants shot a police constable from a very close range near a police station at Hazratbal shrine when a large number of people were heading towards the shrine, housing the holy relic of Prophet Mohammad.
The injured police constable was rushed to hospital.
Thousands of people from all over the valley are expected to visit the shrine today on the occasion of death anniversary of Hazrat Abubakar, first of the four companions of Prophet Mohammad.
