LG calls for fixing responsibility and action against officials

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Expressing anguish over water-logging in the capital, Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi today called for fixing responsibility of officials to ensure that it does not happen again.

Chairing a high-level meeting, attended by senior city police and civil officials, he asked the Chief Secretary to take appropriate measures to ensure that citizens of Delhi did not suffer due to recurring problems of water-logging in many crucial locations.

Mr Joshi suggested that the agencies concerned should take immediate and also long-term measures to correct the situation.

The LG also said responsibility should be fixed where officials were found negligent and action should be taken accordingly.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Ramesh Narayanswami, Principal Secretary (Home) O P Kelkar, Police Commissioner K K Paul and senior Municipal Corporation of Delhi officials.
