Kerala HC quashes cheating case against Manoj Prabhakar

Kochi, Jul 19 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today quashed a cheating case against cricket player Manoj Prabhakar filed before the judicial first class magistrate court, Kochi.

M/s Amith Tea Agency had filed the complaint alleging that Hyderabad-based Balaji Cosmetics, in which Manoj Prabhakar is a director, had cheated it by collecting lakhs of rupees for giving it an agency of the company, which it never gave.

Justice K P Balachandran found that even if the complainant is cheated, Manaoj Prabhakar or the company in which he is the director had no connection with the same and therefore the criminal complaint against him was an abuse of the process of court.
