Hit accuses DSGMC Chief of indulging in corruption

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Delhi Unit President Avtar Singh Hit today accused Paramjit Singh Sarna and his brother, who control Delhi Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC), of misusing gurudwara funds and resorting to corrupt practices for the past five years.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Hit said his party would not allow the Sarna brothers, who had joined hands with the Congress, to use the Sikh Panth for furthering their political ambitions.

His party would approach the Akal Takht to appoint a committee to look into the corruption charges against the Sarna brothers, he added.

Referring to the forthcoming general election to the DSGMC, Mr Hit said his party's poll plank would be to remove corruption from the religious body and improve the standard of education in Sikh institutions.
