HCL unveils enterprise servers based on Intel dual-core processors
New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) HCL Infosystems Ltd, leading information enabling and integration company, today unveiled its gen-next range of enterprise servers, based on the Intel Dual-core Itanium Processors, targeted at the R&D data centers and corporates. This would be India's first complete range of high-end enterprise servers, ranging from two-way servers to state-of-the-art 32-way servers.
HCL would be targeting these servers at key corporates across all segments, including corporates, R&D centers, education institutions, BFSI, government data centers&defense institutions.
These servers would be marketed through performance demonstrations at 'HCL Center of Excellence' as well as corporate sites, besides employing other effective marketing tools.
HCL Infosystems and Intel share a good strategic collaboration, wherein Intel has recognised HCL Infosystems as the 'Server Leader Account', and being a beta site partner for Intel, HCL conducts critical testing and validation processes in the developmental stage of these products.
''The launch of Intel dual-core Itanium processor-based enterprise servers is yet another progressive step ahead in the direction of HCL's endeavour to effectively offer products with value to Indian customers,'' HCL Infosystems Ltd Executive Vice President George Paul said.
HCL Infosystems is one of the first suppliers to use the new Dual-Core Intel Itanium 2 processors, which supports a broad choice of OSes and software with more than 8,000 applications in production.
These new class of dual core enterprise servers offer almost twice the performance at lower price points vis-a-vis proprietary architecture server platforms.
HCL Infosystems has direct customer services center across over 300 locations and two ISO 9001 certified state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. The HCL team comprises 32,000 professionals operating from 15 countries including 300 points of presence in India.
