Govt lifts ban on recruitments
Chennai, July 19 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today lifted the ban on filling up vacant posts in government departments by direct recruitment.
A Government Order passed to this effect, said the recruitment may be done following the usual procedures in a phased manner over a period of one to two years by suitably earmarking vacancies.
It said the estimate of vacancies of all posts should be reassessed based on need. All estimates of vacancies for all categories of recruitment should be placed before the staff committee constituted for this purpose.
Thereafter, the estimates may be communicated to Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, Employment Exchange or the appointing authority as the case may be for the purpose of recruitment, the order said.
The ban was imposed by the previous AIADMK regime, citing severe financial crunch and the DMK government, by lifting the ban, fulfilled its yet another poll promise.
