Former CPI leader killed

Daltonganj, Jul 19 (UNI) Armed miscreants killed former CPI district secretary Nand Kishore Ram in Jharkhand's Palamu district late last night.

Police here today said six armed assailants knocked at Ram's door and started firing indiscriminately.

He died on the spot.

Ram had left the CPI and joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal a few days back.

Business establishments of Panki area remained closed today in protest.

A Search had been launched to nab the assailants.
