Ex-gratia of Rs 16.36 lakh for riot victims

Gwalior, July 19 (UNI) An amount of Rs 16.36 lakh has been sanctioned as ex-gratia for 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims of this district.

Collector Rakesh Srivastava said a district-level committee recommended the amount for riot victims on the basis of directions issued by the government for re-assessment of rehabilitation and compensation.

He said the amount included Rs 3.5 lakh each for the next of kin of four deceased victims -- Kulwant Singh, Sarman Singh, Ranjeet Singh and Sardar Singh.

Mr Srivastava said ex-gratia of Rs 67,500 was sanctioned for Darvar Singh Dabra, while it was Rs 31,500 for Anup Singh Dabra, Rs 45,000 for Devandra Singh Dabra and Rs 22,500 for Manjeet Singh Dabra.

Ex-gratia of Rs 11,250 would be provided to Gurcharan Singh Dabra, while it will be Rs 9,000 for Mukhtyar Singh Dabra, Rs 31,500 for Sargel Singh Dabra and Rs 18,000 for Ms Joginder Singh Dabra.
