Employees demand suspension of Commissioner

Hyderabad, July 19 (UNI) Employees of the Department of Employment staged a dharna at the Commissionerate demanding immediate suspension of the Commissioner who they alleged was misbehaving with women employees, here today.

They alleged that the Commissioner had been harassing a woman employee for the past three months. Though the employee had lodged a complaint with the Chief Secretary, no action was taken.

They also alleged that the officer was behaving rudely with his subordinates.

The petitioner had met the Finance Minister K Rosaiah two days ago with the same grievance. As the department fell under the Labour Ministry, Mr Rosaiah referred it to the Labour Minister G Vinod.

The complainant later met Mr Vinod and the Chief Secretary.

As there was no positive response on the part of the government, the dharna was staged, the agitators clarified.
