Dishtv subscribers can order Hollywood blockbusters on their sets

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Subscribers of Dishtv can now order Hollywood movies directly on their television any time of day.

This has been possible with the country's leading Direct-to-Home service provider entering into an agreement with Buena Vista International Television - Asia Pacific (BVITV-AP) to air the latest blockbuster movies on its premier value added service, Movie on Demand.

BVITV-AP is the international television distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company.

The movie can be ordered through SMS, phone or by simply logging on to www.dishtvindia.in. Once authorized, the consumer can watch the movie for 24 hours at their own convenience at a nominal cost of Rs. 50 per movie.

Subscribers of the Movie on Demand pay-per-view service will have access to a slate of box office hit features from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax and Jerry Bruckheimer Films including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Disney's highest grossing film to date, Casanova, Cinderella Man, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Dark Water, and Flight Plan.

CEO, Dishtv Sunil Khanna said, "Strategic alliances of this magnitude and nature are very important for any operator in any market. We are happy to tie up with BVITV at a juncture when the Movie on Demand services for Hindi movies has already been launched and now Dishtv is all set to launch the same service for English movies as well.

''With this move, we will be able to offer this service to more than 1.2 million subscribers of Dishtv spread across the country", he said.

Dishtv's Movie on Demand marks the next step in television viewing offering the consumer a unique opportunity to order movies directly on their television set on demand.

The consumer is an active participant and in complete control of the content, allowing them to choose which movie they wants to watch and when, in the comfort of their living room.

Dishtv, India's first DTH service provider, entertains viewers with 140 television and audio channels offering superior picture and sound quality.

It was launched by Essel Group - the parent company of the Zee Network.
