Dharwad Bar Association to intensify stir

Dharwad, Karnataka, July 19 (UNI) Members of the Dharwad Bar Association today decided to further intensify their agitation from tomorrow against the inordinate delay in starting civil works of the proposed circuit bench of the Karnataka High Court at WALMI, near here.

At an emergency meeting chaired by Bar President B D Hiremath, the Bar members, who continued to boycott court proceedings for the ninth consecutive day today, decided to commence fast-unto-death in the court premises from tomorrow and closure of Government offices.

Mr Hiremath told newspersons that even after a year of laying the foundation stone for the circuit bench building, no work had been taken up and it clearly showed the Government's step motherly attitude towards the North Karnataka region.

''We have already decided to gherao the Chief Minister during his visit to Hubli tomorrow,'' he added.
