Coordination Committee Meeting inconclusive
Bangalore, Jul 19 (UNI) The Coordination Committee meeting of the Janata Dal (Secular) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened here tonight following renewal of charges by BJP legislator Janardhana Reddy about corruption charges in which allegedly Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and others involved in the 'Mining bribery' remained inconclusive.
Absence of Mr Kumaraswamy marked the beginning of the Meeting aftermath of the renewal of the corruption charges and subsequent suspension of Mr Reddy from the BJP.
Briefing after the meeting Minister for Home M P Prakash said that the Meeting was inconclusive and would meet tomorrow. The renewed allegation made by Mr Reddy against Chief Minister was discussed threadbare and JD (S) was satisfied with the BJP's action of suspending Mr Reddy from the Party.
Mr Prakash said that there is no threat to the coalition government.
About the renewal of the allegation by Mr Reddy in the Council, Mr Prakash said that ''it was politically motivated and has no substance''.
He said that the issue of changing District Incharge Minister Shriramulu, which was one of the bone of contentions of Mr Reddy did not come for discussion.
Mr Prakash clarified that Mr Kumaraswamy could not attend the Meeting since he was pre-occupied with other assignments and there is no other political motive behind it.
BJP National General Secretary and former Union Minister Ananth Kumar, who was also present ascertained that '' there was no threat to the Coalition government. Deciplenery action was initiated against Mr Reddy and the central party leaders have endorsed the action taken by the State unit, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Ministers Jagadish Shettar, D H Shankara Murthy and K S Ishwarappa participated from BJP in the Meeting while Mr Prakash, his party colleagues Iqbal Ansari, H D Revanna and Chaluvaraya Swamy participated from JD(S) Replying to questions Mr Prakash said that tomorrow Mr Kumaraswamy would be present in the meeting.
