Check antecedents of candidates, Madrasas told

Gulbarga, July 19 (UNI) The Karnataka State Minorities Commission today advised the Madrasas to check the antecedents of candidates before admitting them and urged the Government to keep a vigil on the activities of the religious institutions.

Addressing a press conference here, Commission Chairman Alhaj K C Mohammad Masoor suggested that Madrasas deny admission to those whose background was not known as there were reports of some people misusing Madrasas.

Denying reports that Madrasas were harbouring anti-nationals, he claimed that they neither gave shelter to anti-nationals nor misguided the youth.
