Broadline Computer-IBM to launch knowledge centre

Chennai, Jul 19: The city-based Broadline Computer Systems, a leading software service providers and IBM, the world's largest Information Technology company joined hands to open "proof of concept", a first of its kind knowledge Centre here.

The IBM-Broadline Knowledge Centre, would provide various service offerings for the customers to test the performance of a wide range of enterprise applications in different back-end platforms, Jyothi Sathyananthan, Country Business Manager-P Series, IBM India said.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the Centre was to help the Small and Medium Enterprise customers to test the software before making an investment decision.

Mr Sathyananthan said the Centre not only provided first hand knowledge of the solutions, but also enabled the customers to port and test their applications.

"Now the customers of enterprise applications do not have to go by the presentations of the sales people. They can actually have a hands on experience, physical look and test the performance of the aplication in a real world scenario," he said.

He said IBM, which has recently announced various cost effective solutions, based on its versatile power-5 processor that allowed the SME users to run the same applications, using different operating systems, was keen on addressing the IT issues of SMEs in India.

M Arumugam, Managing Director, Broadline said that the knowledge Centre would soon be a total demonstration Centre of various IBM solutions, which would include storage area network and data centre.

Mr Arumugam said Broadline, a leading edge IT Consulting company, had registered a turnover of Rs 10 crore in the first four months of the current year and is expected to cross the Rs 40 crore turnover mark by the end of this financial year.
