Woman mowed down by Metro train

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) A woman was killed at Chandni Chowk Metro Station this morning when she 'jumped' onto the track and was hit by a train.

Thirty-year-old Paramjeet Kaur went to the rear end of the underground station, where passengers normally do not go, and presumably jumped before a train at about 0920 hrs, Metro police said.

Paramjeet, resident of Ganesh Nagar in West Delhi, was missing from home since last night, police said.

The Metro operations on the Central Secretariat-Vishwavidyalaya line were affected for half-an-hour and the trains were running on single line between Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate stations, Delhi Metro Rail Corp sources said.

Normal train services were restored at 0958 hours.
