Tribal raped, strangulated

Harda, MP, July 17 (UNI) An 18-year-old tribal was raped and strangulated at Varanga village in this district's Khirkia tehsil, police said today.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sudhir Lad said the victim hailed from Palaspani village in Betul district. Her family had come to Harda for working as labourers. The body was recovered from a well on July 15.

Post mortem revealed that the girl had been sexually assaulted and strangulated.

A case was registered against unidentified accused in this connection.

Meanwhile, Harda district panchayat member Rekha Yadav submitted a memorandum to police administration demanding early action against the accused.
