Professional college Act helped managements: Youth Congress

Pathanamthitta, July 18 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Youth Congress president K P Anilkumar today said that the legislation on self-financing professional colleges enacted by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government had helped the managements and misled the people.

Talking to reporters here, he said the Kerala High Court directive to continue the fees-structure followed last year was a foregone conclusion and knowing this well, the LDF government was actually dilly-dallying with the managements jeopardising the future of students.

Mr Anilkumar alleged that 60 days of LDF in power had created anarchy in all sectors of public life. The police force which was supposed to protect the life and property of people, in fact, had turned into a "menace." The custodial death of a person in Kozhikode and the alleged killing of a youth by pushing him into a lake in Thiruvananthapuram could be cited as glaring examples of the "sinister brutality" of the law enforing machinery, he said.
