Minority status case adjourned to August 3
New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) National Commisssion for Minority Educational Institutions today adjourned till early next month hearing on the demand for minority status by four professional institutions in Kerala.
The hearing was adjourned to August 3 following today's Kerala High Court order allowing status quo in the admission to self-financing professional colleges in the state, Commission sources said.
Management counsel Romy Chacko and state government counsel P V Dinesan informed the Commission that the Kerala High Court today allowed the status quo to continue without staying the Kerala Professional Colleges Act passed by the state Assembly recently, the sources said.
The counsels sought more time in view of the High Court order, they said.
Both the counsels have been asked to produce a copy of the High Court order, the sources added.
