Kalam urges industry's involvement in tackling terrorism
Mumbai, July 18 (UNI) President APJ Abdul Kalam today urged the industrial community to come forward and join a national campaign to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the nation.
Inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Indian Merchant Chambers (IMC) here this evening, Dr Kalam said following the recent blasts, the residents of Mumbai have got a major responsibility towards waging a collective war against terrorism.
He also asked the academic and business community to fight collectively against terrorism.
Talking about the competitiveness in the present scenario of globalisation, Dr Kalam underscored the need for a creativity of mind to face the situation.
Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna, speaking on the occasion, said Mumbaikars should not 'panic because of the recent serial blasts' but tackle it firmly.
State Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh released the souvenir of the IMC, ''Glimpses of IMC (Past, Present and Future)'', on the occasion.
