Isro scientist Madhavan Nair nomiated for Tilak award

Pune, July 18 (UNI) Noted scientist G Madhavan Nair who is presently heading ISRO has been nominated for the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak award for 2006 for his outstanding contributions in this field.

Tilak Smarak Trust and Tilak Swarajaya Trust chief trustee Dr Deepak Tilak in a release issued here said, the annual award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a gold medal, momento and scroll of honour. The award will be presented by Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on August 1 to commemorate the anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak.
