Indio-Russian and China ties must be strong
St Petersburg, July 18: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said greater cooperation between India, Russia and China was necessary for ''meeting challenges.'' ''The most important thing is to fight against terrorism along with religious extremism, drug trafficking and trans-border crimes, which have linkages to the problem of terrorism,'' Dr Singh told Interfax in an interview.
The Prime Minister, who had the first trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Hu Jintao on the margins of the G8 summit, said there was also considerable untapped potential for trilateral economic cooperation, including in such spheres as trade, investment, banking, transportation linkages, agriculture, energy and high technologies.
