HC Chief Justice retires
Mumbai, July 18 (UNI) Bombay High Court Chief Justice Kshitij Vyas retired today.
He had been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on February 25.
Earlier, he was appointed as a permanent judge of the Gujarat High Court before his elevation as the Chief Justice of Bombay.
Born at village Bhalod in Bharuch district, he obtained a degree in law from M S University, Baroda. He, then, enrolled as an advocate in Ahmedabad and started his legal practice.
He also worked as law representative of ''Uchha Nyayalaya Patrika'', a law journal of Central Government and also as a reporter of Gujarat Law Times.
He became vice president of the High Court Advocates' Association twice and was elevated to the Bench of Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge in 1990.
Justice V G Palshikar will be the acting Chief Justice till appointment of a new Chief Justice.
