Govt in appeal before HC Division Bench

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 18: Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today said the Government would appeal before the Division Bench of the High Court against the single judge's order permitting self-financing professional college managements to fill up 50 per cent of the seats in their institutions.

Reacting to the single judge's order on the Kerala Self-Financing Colleges (Regulation and Control) Act 2006, he told mediapersons here that immediate steps would be taken to file a petition before the Division Bench against the order.

Noting that the Court had not accepted the managements' plea to stay the Act, Mr Baby said the intention of the government was to implement the Act during the current year itself.

Mr Baby also said there was no need for any apprehension about the admission process now under progress and it would be carried out without causing any problem to the students.
