Dental college students restart strike
Vijayawada, July 18 (UNI) Students of Government Dental College intensified their strike embarking on a relay fast demanding the transfer of Principal J.S.Wesely.
Earlier the students called off the 13-day long agitation on June 28 after the State Government produced an order transferring the Principal to Kurnool, when a delegation of students apprised Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and Health Minister K Rosaiah about the conditions in the college. But the Principal was back to the office on July one after getting a stay order from the administrative tribunal.
The students alleged that the Principal after reinstatement continued harassing them. Meanwhile, Murali Krishna, President, Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association Dental Wing told newsmen that the Principal was threatening the striking students.
He urged the government to intervene and take necessary steps for getting the stay order revoked from the tribunal.
