Delhiites light candles in memory of Mumbai blast victims
New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Delhiites joined the nation in paying homage to the victims of July 11 Mumbai serial blasts with scores assembling at the Jantar Mantar here and observing a 'two-minute silence' in memory of those who lost their lives exactly a week from today.
Common people, representatives of organisations and institutions and mediapersons lighted candles and prayed for the departed souls of the nearly 200 people who perished in the seven blasts that rocked the western metropolis last Tuesday.
Several dozen mediapersons from New Delhi Television (NDTV) lit candles and stood in silence for two minutes at 1726 hrs, the time when the first of the serial blasts took place in Mumbai last week.
Others to join them were members of the 'Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association' and 'All Indian Anti-Terrorist Front' president Maninder Singh Bitta and 'Delhi Shiv Sena' leader Jai Bhagwan Goyal.
