No danger of Tsunami anymore, say scientists
Hyderabad, July 18: Scientists studying the impact of Indonesian eartquake and Tsunami on India today said 'the danger hour had passed off.' The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) here had been monitoring the situation in India following the tsunami in Indonesia.
INCOIS Director Shilesh Nayak told UNI today that any danger to country from the tsunami was ruled out yesterday evening itself.
''There was nothing to panic about in the present scenario.
However, the studies and monitoring were continuing as usual,'' he said.
The National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) here also gave the same opinion.
Talking to UNI here, NGRI Deputy Director Kausalya said there was no impact of Indonesian earthquake and tsunami in India this time. ''If any impact was recorded in Andaman, then we would have sent team to study the situation,'' she added.
