Dalmiya asked to face BCCI Disciplinary Committee on July 26
New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) There is clearly no end to former BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya's woes as the current regime asked the former chief to depose before its Disciplinary Committee on July 26 for failing to reply to a showcause notice.
The BCCI Executive Committee, which met here on Sunday, had ratified the Finance Comiittee decision to stop grant to the Dalmiya-led Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and entrusted the Disciplinary Committee to deal the issue.
Accordingly, Mr Dalmiya has been asked to appear before the Disciplinary Committee in the capital on July 26 and would be heard by BCCI President Sharad Pawar, who heads the committee, and Vice Presidents Shashank Manohar and Chirayu Amin.
The former Board President was slapped a showcause notice for allegedly transfering Rs 40 crore to the CAB account and after Mr Dalmiya failed to reply to the notice, BCCI decided to stop all grants to the state body.
Mr Dalmiya has been in the eye of a storm since the new BCCI top brass filed an FIR in Mumbai for alleged misappropriation of the 1996 World Cup funds by the CAB president and the case was later handed over to the Economic Offence Wing of the Mumbai Police.
