Chief Secretaries to discuss improved public service delivery

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) State Chief Secretaries will meet here tomorrow to address the problems and prospects for improving public service delivery in core public services.

The meet, convened by the Cabinet Secretary, will take up the issue of implementation of national programmes like National Rural Health Mission, National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme, Bharat Nirman, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid-day Meal Scheme.

The emphasis of the conference will be on improving the delivery of public services to its citizens, to which the Government attaches a high priority. The conference will also dwell on citizen-centric governance focused on delivery of high quality public services designed around the needs of the citizens more like valued customers and to enable citizens to hold public servants accountable for the services delivered.
