Bengal experiences bouts of rainfall, warning in coastal area
Kolkata, July 18 (UNI) Several parts of West Bengal experienced heavy rainfall even as Kolkata witnessed occassional bouts of rains in the last two days.
The city woke up to a bright morning. However, as the day progressed clouds gathered giving an impression of possible downpour.
The erratic monsoon was responsible for the spurt in humidity, which remained constant at 97 per cent for the past few days.
Meanwhile, the administration has warned the people in the coastal areas, including Digha around 190 kms from here, against venturing into the sea following yesterday's earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.
The Met office recorded a maximum temperature of 33 degree Celsius and a minimum of 26.4 degree Celsius today.
It has warned the coastal areas of thunderstorms and predicted heavy rain in the next few hours.
