Ban on making of Ganesh idols with plaster of paris

Panaji, July 18 (UNI) Goa government has banned manufacture of Ganesh idols with plaster of paris to protect environment.

Replying to a starred question of Damodar Naik (BJP) tabled in the State Legislative Assembly today, Industries minister Luizinho Faleiro told the House that the District Collectors had been instructed to enforce the ban.

The director of Industries, Trade and Commerce, had also been instructed not to register any unit dealing in the manufacture of idols with plaster of paris, he added.
