Ultras reportedly infiltrate via Rajouri, Poonch

Jammu, Jul 17: Two groups of trained militants have reportedly succeeded in entering the India territory via Munjakote and Balakate sectors in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch during the last few days, according to the CID of Jammu and Kashmir police.

However, Army sources denied the report about infiltration. ''We dont't have any specific information from our network that militants succeeded to enter the Indian territory, a officer said today.

The CID has reported that a group of 12 militants cut the fencing wires and infiltrated this side of the Line of Control (LoC) from the border village of Tarkundi in Manjakote sector on Saturday night.

The infiltration was detected by the security forces in the morning when all the security agencies were sounded and a massive search operation was launched to track down the militants.

''The entire police force in Manjakote area has been asked to comb different areas to hunt down the militants before they could succeed in reaching their hide outs,'' a top police official said here.

Another group of eight to 10 militants, on Friday night, reported to have sneaked into this side from Balnoi village in Balakote sector of Poonch district.

Search operation, by Army and police, in Balakote was also on to apprehend or eliminate the militants. However, they were not spotted after infiltration.

Meanwhile, the militants killed a head constable at Gursai Harni area in Mendhar tehsil last night. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Yassen.
