Terrorism triggered by trans-border hostile forces - BJP
Patna, Jul 17 (UNI) Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader C P Thakur today said the country was going through a never ending terrorist nightmare triggered by trans-border hostile forces.
Dr Thakur told neswpersons here that the Mumbai blasts, which claimed hundreds of innocent lives and resulted in injuries to many more as also the recurring blasts in Kashmir killing and grievously injuring hundreds of persons were only the latest in the chain of grisly killings planned and executed by the "terrorist outfits operating from Pakistan and its sysmpathisers and supporters in India." He hailed the stand adopted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying that the latter had rightly pointed out that it was now very difficult for India to normalise relation with Pakistan and carry forward the ongoing peace process.
The appeal by the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Lal Krishna Advani to the people, specifically politicians, to rise above party politics and fight the menace of terrorism unitedly was relevant, he said.
But ironically this patriotic appeal to the nation had been brazenly ignored by Union Humen Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh and Minorities Minister Antuley, who had gone to the extent of alleging that fake terrorist attacks had been executed by the majority community.
The entire nation knew who was playing the politics of vote bank for the purpose of securing and consolidating the Muslim vote bank, he said.
He said the serial blasts in Mumbai and Kashmir have highlighted the abysmal failure of the Intelligence and the security agencies to act in time to prevent the continuing terrorist violence. Now the Intelligence agencies are groping in the dark about possible clues to the recent terrorist attacks. Claims by Lash-kare-Ul-Kahar of owning responsibility for Mumbai blasts are just a camouflage, he added.
Dr Thakur said it is now high time the government should seriously consider entrusting the probe into the recent dastardly blasts to the CBI which has the requisite experience and expertise to handle such investigations.
The government shold also seriously consider drafting and associating retired officials with proven ability Dr U N Bishwas, with the investigations.
