Temblor hits Java

New Delhi, July 17 (UNI) An earthquake of severe intensity struck Java, Indonesia, this afternoon.

The quake, which measured 7.1 on the Richter Scale, occurred at 1349 hrs, Indian Meteorological Department said here.

It was epicentred at south of Java.
