Telekom Malaysia says eyeing Middle East market

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Reuters) Telekom Malaysia Bhd said on Monday it was still looking at opportunities to enter the mobile phone market in the Middle East.

''We are looking at other opportunities in the Middle East area, not necessarily Egypt, but wherever there is very good opportunity.

But more, I think we are looking nearer home,'' Chairman Radzi Mansor told reporters.

He was replying to a question whether Telekom was still interested in the Egyptian market after it failed in its joint bid for the country's third mobile-phone licence.
